We have 15 comfortable rooms , all with private bath and balcony
, with spectacular views of the whole bay. The air-conditioned
restaurant s on the ground floor and offers international
and an docal cuisine. Our skillful chef Arist will prepare
your meals. Besides a variety of meat an fish dishes , there
wil be desserts to try out , ,such as 'presnac'- a sweet dish
typical of the area , made of fresh cottage cheese.Or you
can enjoy our brandy in the shade of a grapevine , try some
anchovies , or sheep's cheese with olive oil and olives ,
of course. Our hostess Marija wil be more than glad to offer
you these delicious home products , which will be something
special to remember.
The 'Burin' guest house is located in a peaceful people part
of Baška , at the very entrance to the town , so it is easy
to find us. It is only 400 m from the sea and the main beach.
Leave your car in the shade of the spacious cover prking lot
by the guest house and in a few minutes you will reach the
towns popular pebbly beach. It is 1800 m long and was awarded
the blue flag in 1999. The blue flag has proudly waved on
the beach ever since and it is a symbol of a natural nonswimmers
and children. You can hire sunloungers , umbrellas , surf
boards , or take a pedalo and enjoy a leisurley ride to one
of the 30 smaller , nearby natural beaches. The atmosphere
there is more intimate and peaceful than at the main beach
, witch can get quite crowded in the summer months. The sea
temperature reaches 25°C.
The Mediterrean climate has decorated the town's surroundings
with beautiful colours: the yellow Spanih broom , purple sage
and predominantly green valley. Nature lovers will surely
enjoy searching for endemic plants on the nearby mountains.
The local fauna is also of interast: you might be woken by
braying of a donkey , or fall asleep listening to the hooting
of an owl.
You might spot the Griffon vulture soaring the skies , and
endemics species that lives on the island Krk nearby Cres
, where you can visit their reserve. Let us not forgetthat
the adriatic Sea is rich in many diffrent kinds of fish ,
shells and mollusks.
Take a walk by the sea to the old town , where you will find
traces of a rich heritage . It will delight you with narrow
, winding streets and tall , old houses that seem to protect
one another from the harsh cold winter wind. Worth visiting
is nearby villiga of Jurandvor and its a little churh of St.
Lucy housing the famous baška tablet from the 1100. The local
museum in Baška has an interesting entnogaphic collection.
If you prefer something more active and energetic there is
a diving centre and school , a surf centre with a surfing
school , you can water ski or do other water sports , play
beach volleyball , there's a football pitch , mini golf ,
there are tennis courts , marked walking pats Along the surrounding
mountains and bouat trips to the nearby islands. The staff
of 'Burin' will assist you in choosing trips to places on
the mainland , one of the most attractive being a whole day
trip to the Plitvice Lakes , one of the most beautiful national
parks in Croatia. Many of your guests come year after year.
